AP English Literature and Composition
Welcome to the discussion site for AP English Literature summer reading. Read the instructions below carefully before you request membership.
Instructions: 1. Create a username that includes your full first name and your last initial in all capital letters. For example, John Smith's username would be JOHNS . If your username is not formatted properly, your request to join the wiki will be denied. If your username, as formatted above, is already in use, try adding a number or two to the end of your username. If you already have a username for wikispaces that is not formatted to these specifications, it is easy to change. Just log on, click on your name, and click on settings.
2. Make sure to record your username and password for future reference.
3. NEVER USE YOUR FULL NAME or REFER TO ANOTHER STUDENT BY HIS/HER FULL NAME ON THIS WIKI.
4. Do not use the discussion site inappropriately. All school rules and general rules of student conduct apply in this online setting.
5. Begin posting under the Discussion Tabs on the Never Let Me Go and Frankenstein pages. Do not post on the Discussion Tab for this page. You can start your own thread and/or answer the posts of your classmates.
Posting requirements: 1. You must post at least one comment by August 1.
2. You must post at least three times for each novel (for a total of at least six posts).
3. Make sure your posts are significant. Short posts such as "I agree," will not count toward this total, but you are still encouraged to add such brief posts if you like. Such posts do tend to further discussion and are always welcome as additional posts.
4. You must quote from both Never Let Me Go and Frankenstein at least once.
5. Feel free to compare the two works and to bring up comparisons to other works of literature, film, art, etc.
Extra Tip: In addition to discussions, objective testing, and short writing assignments over all of the summer reading, AP students will be writing an essay comparing Never Let Me Go and Frankenstein at the start of the school year. It would be a good idea to keep notes and to mark relevant quotes as you read!
